The finger test never lies
Push your finger two inches into the soil near (not against) the stem. Dry at the tip? Time to water. Still damp? Wait a day or two.
Water deeply, less often
A long, slow soak twice a week grows deeper roots than a quick sprinkle every day. Deep roots mean tougher, happier plants.
Morning is golden
Watering before 10am gives leaves time to dry and roots time to drink before the heat. Evening watering is fine too — just aim at the soil, not the leaves.
